Step-by-Step Instructions:
Prepare the Magnifying Glass:
Trace and cut out a magnifying glass shape two times on one side of a cereal box.
Cut a smaller circle inside it, leaving a frame of about 1 inch wide.
Cover the opening with red cellophane paper, securing it with clear tape. This will be your “magnifying glass” that reveals hidden images.
Tape or glue the two magnifying sides together to complete your “magic magnifying glass.”
Create Hidden Images:
On a piece of white paper, draw your main image using the blue Sharpie. This could be anything from a simple shape, a detailed picture, letters, numbers, sight words, etc.
Overlay your details or messages using the red Sharpie in scribble patterns (see picture). Now your details will remain hidden until viewed through the red cellophane magnifying glass.
The Big Reveal:
Hand your child the red cellophane magnifying glass and let them hover it over the drawing. Watch as their eyes light up when the hidden blue images or messages are magically revealed!
